An Open Letter to my Unborn Daughter
I can’t believe we’ve been together for 9 months now, I will be officially 40 weeks pregnant with you tomorrow as I am writing this letter for you. There have been ups and downs together but overall you’ve been so cooperative in our growth together. I love how you wake me up in the morning with your kicks, and when I feel that you are so energized when we are eating pineapples. It’s funny that during bedtime you would consistently complain by kicking a lot because I am lying on my right side whenever I and your daddy cuddle before sleeping. We are so excited to meet you baby, your dad is even more impatient to meet you, and he would act as if you are in his arms already. Oh how sweet we are going to be from the moment you will arrive!
But more than this excitement to meet you, we are looking forward in knowing you, your personality, the traits you got from mommy or from daddy, and just overall really getting to know you as a whole person. I look forward for us to grow as a family, our travels and adventures, lessons and experiences together. We will have a lot of time together as we grow old. I know that I will learn a lot from you and I will do my best to guide you as a parent.
I want you to do mistakes and learn from it, be a dreamer and don’t be afraid to take risks. I will never dictate your life and judge your choices in life, even if it’s about religion. I want you to express your opinion, be your authentic self and don’t be afraid to go for what you want, be independent and be a woman with goals. You will hear a lot of life lessons from me and your dad so you could do better, be wise to pick them and learn from other people’s mistake. Learn the value of money, know that it isn’t evil but actually can do great things with proper relationship with it and If you could excel at one thing, let it be self-love. May you know your worth, feel confident in your dreams and stand up for what you believe. May you be comfortable in your own skin and see yourself as a beautiful soul as you are. May you remember to laugh at life’s challenges and see the good in people. May you be the architect of your own destiny and know in your heart that you can achieve anything in this world. May you be kind, emphatic and be brave!
We will have a lot of things to talk about, under the sun and moon. But for now, let us enjoy cuddling together, singing, dancing and playing together. We are so thrilled to finally meeting you, baby girl.
We love you even before meeting you,
Your mother, Grace
